A Stunning Transformation of a Courtyard with Resin Bound Installation

At CS Paving and Surfacing, we pride ourselves on turning tired, worn-out driveways into beautiful, long-lasting spaces — and our recent project in Lincoln was no exception.

Our client wanted a complete overhaul of their old courtyard, which had been previously surfaced with aged tarmac and slabs. They chose Farmhouse Gold – a warm and natural resin bound blend supplied by the Resin Mill, to bring new life and colour to the area. This choice perfectly suited the character of the property, offering a subtle yet striking finish.

The Process: From Worn Out to Wow

The transformation began with excavation of the existing surface and installation of a block border, and block edgings to add additional steps. Removing the tired old tarmac was crucial to ensure we could start fresh with a strong foundation.

Once the area was excavated, we carefully installed a high-quality hardcore base, compacted in layers to create a solid sub-structure. Following this, a layer of tarmac binder was applied, providing the perfect surface to support the final resin bound layer.

The final stage was the installation of the Farmhouse Gold resin bound system. This particular blend, with its soft, golden tones, beautifully complements both traditional and modern settings, making it a perfect match for the client’s courtyard. The seamless, smooth finish not only enhanced the look of the space but also provided excellent durability and low maintenance for years to come.
